Theological schools are flourishing at present in Ethiopia. Both national and local churches and church organizations are establishing new Bible institutes at certificate, diploma and degree levels.
Until recently Ethiopian Evangelical churches have only two outstanding Bible colleges at degree level: the Mekane Yesus Theological Seminary and the Evangelical Theological College of Ethiopia Kale Heywet Church (ETC) . New additions include, the Addis Ababa Bible College (ABC) and the Pentecostal Training Center (PTC) both of which are degree level initiatives. The other big jump is the formation of the Ethiopian Graduate School of Theology (EGST) established by the joint effort of ETC, Makane Yesus Theological Seminary and the contributions of Evangelical Churches Fellowship of Ethiopia (ECFE).
